Our Advanced Mini Red Tennis Coaching at AcePlay Tennis is designed for children aged 5 to 8 who have mastered the basics of tennis and are ready to build on their skills in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.
But what is Advanced Mini Red Tennis?
Using soft red tennis balls, smaller courts, and age-appropriate equipment, children continue to develop their technique while learning to rally more consistently, move with greater confidence, and begin to understand the tactics of the game. This stage bridges the gap between beginner tennis and the next level of junior development.
This programme helps children:
- Build longer and more consistent rallies
- Improve movement, coordination, and shot control
- Develop confidence through fun, game-based learning
- Learn simple tactics and early match-play skills
- Prepare for the transition to Orange Ball Tennis
So, who is this course for?
This class is perfect for children aged 5–8 who have already completed beginner Mini Red coaching or have equivalent tennis experience through:
- Group tennis lessons
- Private coaching
- School tennis programmes
Players joining this class will already be familiar with:
- Basic forehands and backhands
- Simple serving and rallying
- Court movement and coordination
- Fun tennis games and basic scoring
If your child is slightly younger or older but plays to this standard, we’re happy to assess them and recommend the most suitable group.
What to Expect in the Course
Each session combines:
- Fun warm-up games
- Skill-based drills and challenges
- Technical coaching
- Rally and movement development
- Game-based learning
- Simple match-play activities to build confidence
Our goal is to help every child enjoy tennis while developing the technical, physical, and tactical skills needed to progress to Orange Ball Tennis and continue their tennis journey with confidence.
