Our Children’s Green Ball Tennis Coaching at AcePlay Tennis is designed for children aged 9 to 12 who already have a solid foundation in tennis and are ready to take their game to the next level in a fun, challenging, and supportive environment.
But what are Green Ball tennis lessons?
Green tennis balls are slightly softer than standard tennis balls, allowing children to transition towards the full game while maintaining longer rallies and developing greater control. Played on a full-sized court, Green Ball tennis helps young players refine their technique and gain confidence as they prepare for regular yellow ball tennis.
This format helps children:
- Develop more consistent rallies
- Improve serving, movement, and shot selection
- Build tactical awareness and match confidence
- Prepare for the transition to full-ball tennis
So, who is this course for?
This class is perfect for children aged 9–12 who have already received tennis coaching through:
- Orange Ball programmes
- Group coaching sessions
- Private tennis lessons
- School-based tennis activities
Players joining this class will already be familiar with:
- Forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves
- Footwork and court positioning
- Rallying consistently
- Basic tactics, scoring, and match play
If your child is slightly younger or older but plays to this standard, we’re happy to assess them and recommend the most suitable group.
What to Expect on the Course
Each session combines:
- Fun warm-up activities
- Skill-based drills and challenges
- Technical coaching and stroke development
- Advanced movement and footwork exercises
- Tactical coaching and point-play scenarios
- Light competitive match play to build confidence under pressure
Our goal is to help every player enjoy the game while developing the technical, tactical, and mental skills needed to succeed on a full-sized court.
